I've been listening to Bill Callahan's album Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle all day (Alex, you were right), especially the song below.

Working through death's pain

Last night I swear I felt your touch
Gentle and warm
The hair stood on my arms
How, how, how?

Show me the way, show me the way, show me the way
To shake a memory

I flipped my forelock, I twitched my withers, I reared and bucked
I could not put my rider aground
All these fine memories are fuckin' me down

I dreamed it was a dream that you were gone
I woke up feeling so ripped by reality
Love is the king of the beasts
And when it gets hungry it must kill to eat
Love is the king of the beasts
A lion walking down city streets

I fell back asleep some time later on
And I dreamed the perfect song
It held all the answers, like hands laid on

I woke halfway and scribbled it down
And in the morning what I wrote I read
It was hard to read at first but here's what it said

Eid ma clack shaw
Zupoven del ba
Mertepy ven seinur
Cofally ragdah

Show me the way, show me the way, show me the way
To shake a memory

-Eid Ma Clack Shaw by Bill Callahan

Now it's not Christmas music, pretty far from it for the most part, but today didn't feel like Christmas to me.

I love Bill Callahan and Smog. Christmas never feels like Christmas when you weren't raised that way. So, my holiday was okay, I guess. My parents took off work and insisted on sushi for lunch followed by a movie. I won a coin flip, and we ended up seeing Broken Embraces, the new Almodóvar film. Not bad. Lluís Homar stole the show.

I totally understand about a busy week or so. I've got a lot of things coming up with work, the gallery, and my own self-imposed deadlines. Good luck with the driving, though! Take the parallel parking as slowly as they'll let you.

Oh! I got into Temple. I'm still waiting to hear back from the other schools, which should be in a few months. But, Temple's offer of a partial merit-scholarship is kind of exciting and enticing.

I recommend Up In The Air, Brothers, A Single Man, and An Education.

And thanks! Penn's still my first choice, but it's nice to know I have somewhere good to study if I'm not accepted there. It's really a huge weight off my back.
