"We honor them not only because they are guardians of our liberty, but because they embody the spirit of service; a willingness to find meaning in something greater than themselves. And yet, at this moment - a moment that will define a generation - it is precisely this spirit that must inhabit us all."Monday
Disney Rejection Letter, 1938
Miss Mary T. Ford
Searcy,
Arkansas
Dear Miss Ford,
Your letter of recent date has been received in the Inking and Painting Department for reply.
Women do not do any of the creative work in connection with preparing the cartoons for the screen, as that work is performed entirely by young men. For this reason girls are not considered for the training school.
The only work open to women consists of tracing the characters on clear celluloid sheets with India ink and filling in the tracings on the reverse side with paint according to the directions.
In order to apply for a position as “Inker” or “Painter” it is necessary that one appear at the Studio, bringing samples of pen and ink and water color work. It would not be advisable to come to Hollywood with the above specifically in view, as there are really very few openings in comparison with the number of girls who apply.
Yours very truly,
WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS, LTD.

I was riding beside a male stranger in a Jeep until we hit a pathway in a forest. The man got out of the Jeep, so I did as well, not having a real understanding of what we were doing. I followed the man as he quickly paced down a path to a gray mansion. The door was pushed open by his horse-riding boots and once his toe touched the marble floor, he became a bit frantic. I walked slowly through empty clean halls as I saw the strange man run back and forth around me. I slowly realized we were searching the mansion for baby white seals.
I continued to just walk throughout the building calmly looking under tables and behind doors for some seals. After a while, not sure if it was long or short, I saw under a sofa a small, white, egg-shaped body. I pulled the seal out from under the sofa feeling warm, and happy. I sat on the floor huggy the soft baby seal when I look up and saw the man staring. "You have to kill it" he said in a stern tone. I reacted quickly in a yell against the slaughter and asked why we couldn't just take them to another building. "Because we need their silk skin".
I don't know if it was murdered, I woke up :(

Walk, starting with visit to greenhouse, then round the sandwalk, the number of times depending on his health, usually alone or with a dog.
12:45 p.m.
Lunch with whole family, which was his main meal of the day. After lunch read The Times and answered his letters.

and motherhood can't sleep
An one eyed boy in a blind man's mind
waits with the elbows in the alley
He wants cake, so you want cake
Oh, that protection is so sweet
We can't give you peace
with a hit like this
No we can't give you tranquilty
while nerve agents walk the streets
Hold the soil in your hand
for this isn't a rocket to the moon
This dirt wringing-wet with blood
will not give capable roots

Green Porno by Isabella Rossellini

January 4th, 2009
Color me in with a bit of poise
Right now everything is foreign
and the chair in the corner is far too big
A stranger to me, but a mighty gent
I would kneel down beside you
so we can listen to your disquisition
so we can hear your pitch
Now there is a fogged up mirror
resting between my brows
Dry air cracks the plaster
while a poor man bites my ankles
So I soak book pages
to place upon my head
and keep spy glasses against my lashes
so I can grow up for the sea
(and I hope you will join me)
