Some resolutions for two thousand & amen - 2010 -
-Starting January 1st I am taking a photo a day for a year. I plan to post one on here each day and create a set on my Flickr for them.
-I am not buying anything new for a year! This means I will only buy handmade and secondhand goods and will only buy necessities new (food, toiletries, and art supplies for school).
-I am going to try my best to see a counselor at Temple.
-Keep making clothes out of old sweaters and things. I am creating a collection!
-Keep doing well at Tyler, and focus on drawing more.
-And the same year after year- eat my fruits and veggies, stretch, breath, balance, and love.

I made a skirt today, but I'm going to cut back into it, add more stuff, and actually sew on those pockets. I'll have better photos of it when I'm done.

I want to go to 2nd Avenue thrift store for some clothes and fabric. Or maybe any of you out there would want to donate any old clothes you do not want anymore? And I'd really like a kitten.

Sasha looks like an owl. Hoot hoot.

Progress on The Knitted Mask and String-Lace-Shawl-Thing

These knitted patches will be sewn into a mask, but I need more string.
The string-lace-shawl-thing is almost done, I just need more lace material.
All I have with me is a shopping bag full of random fabrics and clothes, but I enjoy making do with just what is around me. I will probably start another piece tonight, but who knows what yet.
Mmm, I am getting Thai drunken noodles tonight.

I bought a sewing machine on Sunday night :)
I have been enamored with the fact that I can make costumes and clothes now.
I am currently working on a shawl that can be tied into a skirt of sorts.
The past two days have been filled with knitting, ripping fabric, and sewing.
But unfortunately thread tension isn't the only tension around in the home.
Bleh.

Eyes Without a Face & Amarcord

I ventured to the video section in the basement of Temple's Library yesterday. What a wonderland! I took out Georges Franju's Eyes Without a Face last night and Fellini's Amarcord today. Eyes Without a Face is absurd and beautiful and Amarcord is filled with life, youth, the grotesque, the pretties, and is an eye feast with magical images as one would certainly expect from Fellini! Tonight I got Down By Law for kicks.

But I should be studying for Art History.

This was my 2D final. It is a book of collage and generic silhouettes of houses numbered 1-8, with 1-7 being past homes of mine and the 8th being my ideal home for the future. I presented during the critic that this is my most personal piece yet for school and that it is relevant to what I am currently constantly deliberating. I am frustrated with the household I resign in and feel more comfortable in the dorms and other places in Philadelphia.

There was a devil in my dream last night. We threw gold filings on his face to make him burn, but there was no effect. The devil was menacing, I wasn't sure about life anymore. He came up to me in a primal way. His hands held a railing to the right and left of me, myself in the middle. He was too close and I was in distress. He was just too close to me.
