This morning I went to the Perkiomenville Auction/ Flea Market with some friends. I went last summer and bought a 30s leather coin purse. The place was decent my last visit, there was crap being sold and things were organized in a way I just didn't understand, but this time it looked like the tables went to the dogs; there were piles of just pure junk (and that being said from me, you can be assured that it was JUNK, I even found an ID, written checks, and soaked used coloring books) and much of the stuff was moldy and dirty. Maybe it was because we arrived 2 hours before pack-up or that it is late in the season or something, but it just didn't look good and left me uncomfortable. However there were a few actual sellers still there and I bought a nice dark, plum-like, not-yet-worn fedora.

And I got my Moo MiniCards today, and I am a happy customer.

I got 100 mini cards for $20 and was allowed to pick up to 100 images to place on the front sides. I picked twenty images for every 5 cards (above).

Then this evening was my first day of training to waitress at Normandy. Things felt easier for to my surprise Chelsea (a friend who recommended me for the job) was actually my trainer. She's a sweetheart and everyone else is relaxed and helpful. But phew, it is almost a workout being on your feet the whole time and lifting heavy trays. And I can already tell that some of the oldies are snooty tooty. All in all it'll be good for me, and I know how to fill out a crib sheet now.

Oh, and I'm on my own MacBook Pro now, laying in bed :)

I felt irrational quickly moving my way up and across the golf course green to the train tracks that hold only early hour locomotive. Past weeks of railroad walking had given memory to the muscles in my legs, allowing me to walk without deliberation of where to place each foot on the wooden planks. The steps I took seemed quick paced, but my surroundings loitered. My thoughts were apprehensive about the night before and about the house that I was walking to. A key on a ring jingled in the back pocket of my shorts and it was very warm out.
Reaching the black tar street didn’t ease any tension. The cars that passed me left my eyes paranoid. Sweat crept out from the corners of my face where the hair ends at the forehead. I soon noticed the church across the road was almost directly parallel to me. I decided to cross over to it for the house I was heading to was around 500 feet past the wooden cross. Five minutes later the right turn for the house appeared.

Sweat was now gathering on the back of my neck. A few yards ahead I noticed a boy, or a man, mowing the grass. I recognized him, average height, olive skin, dark hair, an old next door neighbor. Wanting to keep anonymous, I kept my head down with my hair covering my profile, occasionally glancing to the opposite direction of the ex bystander. Once I was out of sight, I hurried to the door of the house. I couldn’t cry, so I smiled and almost welcomed the unknown furniture placed upon my old slab of concrete, below my old window. It was hardly lingering. I then grabbed the package and walked home.

A house in my friend's neighborhood had some boxes and a typewriter on it's curb. I naturally took the typewriter, went through the boxes, and grabbed some Shirley Temple children's books from the 1930s, and a few other fairy tales from the early 1900s. There are a few pages ripped out of newspapers too, and I guess they are from the mid 30s.

And what do you know, here is a self portrait:
